Roland Alpha Juno
The Alpha Juno is a series of analogue polyphonic synthesizers Roland produced in the middle of the 1980s. Instruments in the series generate their sounds with digitally controlled analogue oscillators and filters, and they are programmed through a set of buttons and a single data entry control rather than a large panel of knobs, which gives them a broad range of sounds including the pulse-width and sync arrangements characteristic of the era. They were used widely in the dance and pop music of the time, and their particular tone has since given them a following in electronic music.
