Roland GR-1
The Roland GR-1 is a guitar synthesizer produced by Roland in the middle of the 1990s. Unlike the company's earlier analogue guitar synthesizers, it generates its sounds digitally, using the same synthesis methods as its contemporary keyboard instruments, and it responds to a divided pickup fitted to the guitar, which senses each string separately so that the pitch of each can be tracked and converted into control data. It can also be used with an ordinary guitar through the same interface, and it offers a range of synthesizer, organ and other voices alongside effects.
