Roland HandSonic
The Roland HandSonic is an electronic hand percussion instrument, played with the palms and fingers rather than with sticks. Its playing surface is divided into a number of pads on a curved, dome-like form, each responding to striking with different areas and with velocity, so that a player can produce drum, percussion and other sounds with the hands in the manner of a hand drum, and the instrument includes a large set of sounds with the ability to edit them and to send data to other equipment. It is used by percussionists and by electronic musicians who want a more physical interface than a keyboard.
