Roland Jupiter-4
The Roland Jupiter-4 is an analogue polyphonic synthesizer introduced at the end of the 1970s, the first instrument in the company's Jupiter line. It plays four notes at once with a single oscillator per voice, and it has a panel of sliders and switches for shaping the sound directly, together with an arpeggiator that was unusual at the time and the ability to store a set of sounds in memory. Its sound is warm and full, and it was used in the popular and electronic music of the period; the instrument is now sought after as an early polyphonic synthesizer.
