Roland JV-1010
The Roland JV-1010 is a compact sound module from the company's JV series, a half-rack unit containing the sample-based synthesis and the sound set of the larger instruments in the range. It is controlled over MIDI from a keyboard, a computer or a sequencer, and it can be expanded with additional sound sets through its expansion slot, so that a small unit can hold a large library of instrument voices. Modules of this kind were widely used in project studios and by computer-based musicians who needed hardware sound without a full keyboard instrument.
