Roland JX-1

The Roland JX-1 is a synthesizer from the beginning of the 1990s, part of the company's range of instruments that generate their sounds from digitally processed sampled or mathematically produced waveforms. It has a compact keyboard, a set of sliders for direct control of the main parameters and a range of preset sounds with the ability to edit and store them, and it was sold as a straightforward instrument for players who wanted a workable set of synthesizer voices without a complex programming surface. It sat below the company's larger and more elaborately equipped instruments.
