Roland MC-909
The Roland MC-909 is a groovebox combining sampling with synthesis, produced at the beginning of the 2000s. It contains a set of synthesised sounds and drum kits together with a sampler that can record external audio and play it back from the keyboard, a sequencer for recording patterns and complete arrangements, a display for editing and controls for shaping the sound while playing, and effects for processing it. Instruments of this kind allowed a complete electronic track to be produced on one machine, and they sit near the top of the company's line of such devices.
