Roland SH-3A
The Roland SH-3A is a monophonic analogue synthesizer the company produced in the middle of the 1970s. It generates one note at a time with a set of oscillators, a resonant filter and modulation arrangements, and the whole instrument is controlled from a panel of sliders and switches that allow the sound to be shaped directly, as was the practice of the period before programmable instruments became common. Its warm, fat tone and its distinctive filter have given it a following among players of analogue equipment, and it is one of the early instruments that established the company's name in synthesis.
