Roland System-100M

The Roland System-100M is a semi-modular analogue synthesizer introduced at the end of the 1970s, made up of a set of separate units that fit into a rack frame. The modules, which include oscillators, filters, amplifiers, envelope generators and sequencing devices, are connected to one another with patch cables, while the instruments in a single voice are already wired together internally, so that the system can be used simply or made as complex as the player wishes. Instruments of this kind were used in studios and in electronic music of the period, and the series remains valued for its sound and its flexibility.
