Roland TR-606

The Roland TR-606 Drumatix is an analogue drum machine introduced at the beginning of the 1980s, and the companion of the company's monophonic bass synthesizer of the same period. It generates its drum and percussion voices with analogue circuits, offers a set of preset patterns with the ability to programme and store the player's own, and can be synchronised with the companion instrument, so that the two together formed a complete rhythm and bass section. Its dry, simple sounds are distinctive, and the machine is valued today for the part it plays in early electronic and dance music.
