Roland U series
The Roland U series is a family of synthesizers and sound modules the company produced at the beginning of the 1990s. Instruments in the series generate their sounds from sampled waveforms, and they are organised around patches that can be layered and edited, with expansion options available to add further sound sets in some models. They were offered as keyboards and as rack modules, and they were used in studios and on stages of the period as a source of a wide range of instrument voices, alongside the company's other digital instruments of the time.
