Roland V-Drums
The V-Drums is the brand under which Roland sells its electronic drum kits. An electronic kit replaces the drum shells and cymbals with rubber or mesh pads fitted with sensors, which detect how hard and where they are struck and use that information to trigger sampled or modelled drum sounds from a module, so that the kit can be played through headphones or an amplifier at any volume. Different versions range from compact practice kits to large systems with many pads and sophisticated sound engines, and the name has been used on the company's electronic drum products since the 1990s.
