Starcaster by Fender
Starcaster by Fender is the name used on a range of low-priced electric guitars and basses sold in the 2000s, which should be distinguished from the semi-hollow Starcaster that Fender produced in the 1970s. Instruments in the range take the familiar Fender outlines in simplified form, with bolted necks, basic pickups and hardware, and they were sold in shops that did not normally carry musical instruments. Mass-produced to a price, they gave a very large number of beginners their first electric guitar, and they are collected now as an example of that market.
