The 0001 Strat
The 0001 Strat is a Fender Stratocaster of the mid 1950s carrying a very early serial number, and it is one of the best documented individual guitars of the period. It has the specification of the instrument's first years, with a contoured ash body, a one-piece maple neck and three single-coil pickups, and it came into the possession of David Gilmour, who has used and lent it over the decades. Guitars with serial numbers of this kind are of historical interest as examples of the earliest production, and the small number of them makes each example significant.
