Tokai Talbo

The Tokai Talbo is a series of electric guitars built by the Japanese maker Tokai Gakki with bodies cast in aluminium alloy. The metal construction gives a hard, bright, very immediate sound with a pronounced attack and clear separation between notes, and it makes the instruments unusual in an industry where wood and laminated composites are the rule. Tokai built its reputation on well-made guitars, including versions of American designs produced for the Japanese market, and the Talbo is one of the company's own designs. It has been produced in several shapes and colours since the 1980s.
