Yamaha BB
The Yamaha BB is the company's long-running series of electric basses, introduced in the 1970s and still in production. The instruments are bolt-on designs with solid bodies in a variety of shapes across the series, most of them fitted with a split-coil pickup at the middle and a single-coil at the bridge, an arrangement that gives a wide range of tones from full and round to bright and nasal, and the series has ranged from inexpensive models to instruments used by professional players. Its combination of sound, playability and value has kept the line going for several decades.
