Yamaha CBX series
The Yamaha CBX series is a group of products the company made for computer music, the term desk top music being used for the practice of composing with a computer and a sound source rather than a stand-alone instrument. Products of this kind combined sound generation, keyboard control and the ability to communicate with a computer, so that a musician could record and arrange music on a screen. The source record gives the series name and the category without a description of the individual units, so this page records the family and its purpose rather than a specification.
