Yamaha CP series

The Yamaha CP series is the company's line of electric and digital pianos. The earliest instruments in the series reproduced the sound of an acoustic piano by mechanical means, striking real strings with hammers and sensing them electronically, while the later models generate their sounds digitally and are laid out as stage instruments with a weighted keyboard, a set of piano voices and effects, and controls for splitting and layering sounds. The name covers decades of instruments and is used today for the company's professional stage pianos.
