Yamaha FG
The Yamaha FG is the company's long-running series of steel-string acoustic guitars, introduced in the 1960s and among the most widely sold acoustic guitars ever made. Instruments in the series have dreadnought and other body shapes with solid or laminated tops and a range of woods, and they were built to provide a dependable, well-made flat-top at a modest price, an approach that made them very popular with beginners and with folk and pop players in the 1960s and 1970s. The series continues in production, and early Japanese-made examples are valued today.
