Why it matters

Delrin picks under the Tortex name were released in 1981 as a replacement for tortoiseshell and are still made in Benicia, California. The colour-coded gauge system means "green" tells any guitarist the thickness, which is why the range is so widely stocked. At $5 for twelve (September 2026) the cost per pick is low enough to keep spares in every case and gig bag.
