BOSS BD-2 Blues driver

The Boss BD-2 Blues Driver is a compact overdrive pedal introduced by Boss in the mid 1990s and still in production. Boss designed it to react to playing dynamics and to the guitar's volume control, so light picking stays clean while harder attack pushes it into a gritty, slightly compressed drive. That touch sensitivity, plus a tone control with a wide sweep, made it a favourite for blues, roots rock and as a gain stage in front of an already-crunchy amp. It runs on a 9-volt battery or an external adaptor through the standard Boss barrel-jack.
