Boss CE-2

The Boss CE-2 is a compact analogue chorus pedal introduced in 1979 as the smaller successor to the CE-1 Chorus Ensemble. Boss fitted it with two controls only, Rate and Depth, which made it quick to set and hard to make sound bad. Running the signal through a short bucket-brigade delay line and modulating it produced the warm, gentle shimmer that became a studio staple of the 1980s and a benchmark against which later chorus pedals are judged. The CE-2 Chorus is one of the most imitated compact pedals ever built and has been reissued in a modern form.
