Boss CS-3

The Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer is the long-running member of Boss's compressor family, introduced in the mid 1980s and still sold today. It offers Level, Tone, Attack and Sustain controls, an arrangement that lets the player set the output volume, brighten or darken the compressed signal, choose how quickly the circuit reacts to the attack, and decide how long notes are held. It is a mainstay of country, funk and pop pedalboards, where it smooths levels and adds snap, and it also works well as a clean boost pressing into a valve amplifier.
