Boss DD-2

The Boss DD-2 Digital Delay was the first compact digital delay pedal, launched by Boss in the early 1980s. Using digital conversion instead of the analogue bucket-brigade chips of the time gave it a cleaner, longer repeat that did not degrade as it fed back, and it packed that capability into the same small enclosure as the company's other compact pedals. It offers delay times set by a rotary control and a hold function for short repeats. The DD-2 set the pattern for the whole DD family that followed, and clean digital repeats became standard equipment on stages through the decade.
