Epiphone Dot

The Epiphone Dot is a semi-hollow electric guitar, named for the dot position markers that distinguish it from the more expensive versions of its shape. It copies the classic thinline, double-cutaway semi-hollow design, a laminated body with two hollow chambers divided by a solid centre block, which allows the guitar to resonate while resisting the feedback that afflicts fully hollow instruments. Epiphone has sold the Dot as an affordable route to that sound since the 1990s, and it is used for blues, jazz, soul and rock by players who want a warm, sustaining voice with some acoustic character.
