ESP Stef-B7
The ESP Stef-B7 is a seven-string baritone instrument from the range ESP builds for Stephen Carpenter of the Deftones. The B in the name marks the baritone scale length, and the 7 marks the number of strings; the two together give a very low register that holds pitch and definition under heavy distortion, which suits the down-tuned, wide-interval riffing of his band. The guitar follows the single-cutaway body shape and the pared-back control layout of Carpenter's other ESP models, with high-output pickups and solid, simple hardware.
