Fender Bass VI

The Fender Bass VI is a six-string electric bass introduced in the early 1960s, tuned an octave below a standard guitar rather than in the four-string bass register. Its scale length sits between a guitar and a bass, which lets a player use guitar-like fingering while producing bass pitches, and it was offered with three single-coil pickups, a floating vibrato and a Jaguar-style body and switch plate. It found use in studios and with players who wanted melodic, guitar-like bass lines, and it was reissued in later decades as its particular sound came back into fashion.
