Fender HM Strat

The Fender HM Strat is a version of the Stratocaster Fender produced at the end of the 1980s to compete with the superstrats that had taken over rock and metal playing. It has a twenty-four fret neck with a flatter fingerboard radius, a humbucking pickup alongside single coils, a locking vibrato system, a body with sharper contouring than the standard instrument and, in some versions, a reverse headstock. It was Fender's answer to the modified and specialist guitars that its rivals were selling, and it was produced for only a few years, making it a niche collectible.
