Fender Starcaster

The Fender Starcaster is a semi-hollow electric guitar Fender introduced in the mid 1970s. It has a large, offset body with a hollow centre and an f-hole, two humbucking pickups with a control layout of two volume and two tone knobs, a bolt-on neck and a distinctive asymmetric headstock, and it was built to compete in the market for semi-hollow guitars dominated by other American makers. It sold poorly at the time and was discontinued at the end of the decade, but the shape has been revived since, both as a Squier instrument and in modernised Fender versions.
