Fender Stringmaster
The Fender Stringmaster is a multi-neck steel guitar Fender produced from the 1950s. It is played with a bar and without frets in the conventional sense, and its successive necks are set at different tunings so that the player can move between chord voicings by changing necks, which is the arrangement used by non-pedal steel players in country and Hawaiian music. Stringmaster examples come with two, three or four necks and with built-in blend controls for each pickup, and the instrument is a landmark in Fender's line of steel guitars.
