Gibson 335-S
The Gibson 335-S is a solid-body version of the ES-335, produced by Gibson at the end of the 1970s and into the early 1980s. It keeps the double-cutaway outline and the pair of humbucking pickups of the semi-hollow instrument but does away with the hollow chambers and the f-holes, giving a smaller, heavier and more feedback-resistant guitar with a sharper, more direct electric tone. Like several designs of that period it was not made for long and sold in modest numbers, and it is collected as an example of Gibson's attempts to modernise its range.
