Gibson ES-355
The Gibson ES-355 is the most elaborate member of the company's thinline semi-hollow family, introduced in the late 1950s. It shares the double-cutaway body with hollow chambers and a solid centre block and the pair of humbucking pickups of its stablemates, but adds a bound ebony fretboard with large block inlays, gold-plated hardware, multi-ply binding and, on many versions, stereo wiring and a rotary tone filter for choosing preset voicings. It is prized by players who want the semi-hollow sound in its most decorated form, and B.B. King's Lucille is based on this design.
