Gibson ES Series
The Gibson ES Series is the line of electric Spanish guitars Gibson has produced since the 1930s, covering archtop and thinline instruments with hollow and semi-hollow bodies. It begins with the ES-150 and runs through the ES-175, the ES-335 and many other models, with numbers and suffixes marking body size, depth, pickup arrangement and trim. Instruments in the line range from simple single-pickup acoustic archtops to elaborate semi-hollow guitars with two humbuckers, and the family as a whole shaped the way amplified guitar playing developed in jazz, blues and rock.
