Gibson J-160E

The Gibson J-160E is an acoustic-electric guitar introduced in the mid 1950s. It has a slope-shouldered flat-top body with a single P-90 pickup mounted near the bridge and a volume and tone control, so that the instrument can be played acoustically or plugged into an amplifier, and it was offered with a sunburst or natural finish and a bound body. It became widely known through its use by the Beatles during their early recording period, where its amplified acoustic sound helped define their arrangements, and it has since been reissued by Gibson.
