Gibson J-45
The Gibson J-45 is a slope-shouldered dreadnought acoustic guitar introduced in 1942 and one of the most used flat-tops in popular music. It has a round-shouldered body with a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, a short scale length and a warm, balanced tone with a firm low end and a prominent midrange that suits both strumming and fingerstyle playing, and it is finished either in sunburst or, in the J-50 version, in natural wood. Gibson has kept the model in production for decades, and it is often described as the workhorse of the company's acoustic range.
