Gibson L-7C

The Gibson L-7C is the cutaway version of the L-7 archtop guitar. The cutaway in the upper section of the body allows the player's hand to reach further up the neck, which is useful for the single-line soloing that jazz players require, and otherwise the instrument follows the L-7 specification, with a spruce top, maple back and sides, f-holes and a plainer level of decoration than the most costly archtops in the range. Instruments of this kind are used for jazz and for any style that calls for a warm, projecting acoustic archtop sound.
