Gibson Les Paul Doublecut

The Gibson Les Paul Doublecut is a version of the Les Paul design with two cutaways rather than one, giving improved access to the upper frets and making the body symmetrical. Gibson has built double-cutaway Les Pauls at several points, including the Special of the late 1950s, the Junior with its single pickup, and the later production models of the 1990s and 2000s, which are usually fitted with two humbucking pickups and a carved top. The instruments retain the mahogany construction and the general proportions of the single-cutaway original, and they are used for rock and blues playing that requires high-fret access.
