Gibson Les Paul Faded DC
The Gibson Les Paul Faded DC is a double-cutaway Les Paul offered with a thin, unfilled or lightly finished top that lets the texture of the wood show, a treatment Gibson applies to several of its models to give a worn, matt appearance. It uses the symmetrical two-cutaway outline with a carved top and, on most versions, two humbucking pickups with the usual separate controls, so the specification is otherwise conventional. Instruments finished in this way are lighter to carry and cheaper to produce than the fully polished models, and they are popular with players who prefer the feel of a satin surface.
