Gibson Les Paul Junior
The Gibson Les Paul Junior is a simple single-cutaway solid-body electric guitar introduced in 1954 as an inexpensive alternative to the Les Paul. It has a flat slab mahogany body without a carved top, a single P-90 single-coil pickup mounted at the bridge, one volume and one tone control, a wraparound combined bridge and tailpiece and a plain finish, which made it cheap to build and direct in sound. The combination of a slab body and a single hot single-coil produces a raw, immediate tone, and the Junior has been used widely in blues, punk and rock, and reissued many times.
