Gibson Les Paul Standard
The Gibson Les Paul Standard is the archetypal single-cutaway solid-body electric guitar, introduced in 1952 as the gold-top model designed with the guitarist Les Paul and revised over the following years. It has a mahogany body with a carved maple cap, a set neck, two humbucking pickups with separate volume and tone controls, and a Tune-o-matic bridge with a stop tailpiece on the versions made from the late 1950s onwards. Finishes such as the sunburst of the late 1950s made it one of the most valuable and most copied guitars in the world, and it has been produced continuously in various forms.
