Gibson Robert Johnson L-1

The Gibson Robert Johnson L-1 is a tribute instrument built by Gibson's Custom Shop as a version of the small flat-top acoustic the company made in the early twentieth century, issued with reference to the Mississippi blues musician with whom the model is associated. It follows the L-1 specification, with a compact body, a spruce top and mahogany back and sides, a short scale and a plain, dark finish, and it is decorated with ornaments referring to the player and to the tradition he represents. Instruments of this kind are built in limited numbers for players and collectors wanting a compact vintage-style flat-top.
