Gibson SG Junior

The Gibson SG Junior is the simplest version of the symmetrical double-cutaway solid-body design, produced from the early 1960s. It has a thin all-mahogany body with two sharply cut horns, a set neck joined far up the body for access to the upper frets, a single P-90 single-coil pickup at the bridge, one volume and one tone control and a plain finish. The combination of a light, resonant body and a single hot pickup gives a direct, raucous tone, and the model was made in several periods and has been reissued as an example of a straightforward rock guitar.
