Gibson SG
The Gibson SG is the thin, symmetrical double-cutaway solid-body electric guitar the company introduced at the beginning of the 1960s as a replacement for the single-cutaway Les Paul. It has an all-mahogany body with two sharply pointed horns and a set neck that joins the body unusually far up the neck, which gives easy access to the highest frets and makes the instrument light and comfortable to play. Its sound is bright and cutting with a strong midrange, and the shape has been used for instruments with single-coil and humbucking pickups alike, remaining in continuous production.
