Gibson U2

The Gibson U2 is an electric guitar the company offered in the late 1980s, built along the lines of the modern superstrat designs that had come to dominate rock playing. It has a contoured solid body with a bolt-on neck and a flatter fingerboard radius, a pair of humbucking pickups with an optional single coil, and hardware including a locking vibrato system, together with finishes and graphics of the period. It was produced for a short time only, and it is collected as evidence of Gibson's attempt to enter a market its traditional designs did not serve.
