GL-1 Guitalele
The Yamaha GL-1 Guitalele is a small stringed instrument that combines a guitar with a ukulele. It is built to the size and light construction of a ukulele but carries six strings rather than four and is tuned like a guitar raised by several steps, so that guitarists can use familiar chord shapes and fingering on a compact, easily carried instrument. It is made with a laminated or solid top depending on the version and comes with its own small soft case, and it is used for travelling, for children learning to play and for the bright, high voice it gives to familiar guitar parts.
