Hard Tail

Hard Tail is recorded in this atlas as an electric guitar, and the name refers to the type of bridge the instrument carries rather than to a manufacturer's model line: a hardtail or fixed bridge is anchored firmly to the body with no moving fulcrum or tremolo arm, so the pitch of the strings cannot be bent as a group. Fixed-bridge guitars are chosen for tuning stability, for string bending with the fingers alone and for the extra contact between bridge and body that many players believe adds sustain. The catalogue record here gives the name and the maker only, so no specification is claimed.
