Ibanez RG2228
The Ibanez RG2228 is an eight-string electric guitar from the company's RG range. It extends the familiar superstrat design to a wider neck with two extra low strings, which allows a much lower register for the chugging, single-note riffing that eight-string players use, while keeping the slim neck profile and the flat fingerboard radius that make fast playing comfortable. It is fitted with high-output humbucking pickups and a fixed or tremolo bridge depending on the version, and it belongs to the group of extended-range instruments the company has produced as low tunings became common in metal.
