Ibanez SRC6

The Ibanez SRC6 is a six-string short-scale bass from the company's Soundgear range. It has a compact body and a shorter scale than a standard bass, which gives a fuller, rounder and slightly softer tone with a slacker string feel, and the six strings are tuned in fourths like a bass, extending the range upwards rather than downwards. Instruments of this kind are used for melodic playing and chordal work in the upper register, and for the particular sound of a short-scale bass, and they sit alongside the standard four, five and six-string Soundgear models.
