Marshall JCM800
The Marshall JCM800 is the line of amplifiers Marshall introduced in the early 1980s, and it became the defining sound of hard rock and metal in that decade. The best known version is the single-channel master-volume head, with a preamp gain control that allows distortion to be produced at any volume, a master volume, and a tone section of bass, middle, treble and presence, and it delivers a bright, cutting and aggressive overdrive with a strong upper midrange. The range also included combos and higher-gain models, and it has been reissued in modern form.
