MXR Distortion +

The MXR Distortion + is a compact distortion pedal from the 1970s, one of the most straightforward effects of its kind. It uses a single operational amplifier to clip the signal and offers only Output and Distortion controls, with no tone control at all, so its sound is shaped entirely by the drive setting and by the amplifier it feeds. That simplicity, and the gritty, slightly fuzzy character it produces at high settings, made it a favourite of rock players in the late 1970s and 1980s, and it has been reissued several times, along with the later version carrying additional controls.
